# Libx GNU ed 1.22.6 User Guide — editable sources / 編集用原稿

This unofficial Libx guide provides the original Top notice and all eleven manual chapters, with an independent Japanese translation. The original software archive retains its own GPL notices and source; no GNU ed executable is built or bundled by these steps. Shared Libx files retain their existing notices.

Fixed upstream archive: `ed-1.22.6.tar.lz`, SHA256 `3f33b22135219c39c3c695f7b7171c2567d3e2a17c798c0a90607320cbb268f2`. Version and document date: 1.22.6, 20 August 2026. The online GNU manual can display a different version. Original Texinfo, Info, man page and notices are retained byte for byte. `source/derived-manual.html` is the fixed ISO-8859-15 HTML generated by Texinfo 7.1. The served `manual.html` is a UTF-8 representation: only the decoded meta charset declaration changes; no text is omitted. This avoids author-name corruption when the server sends UTF-8.

`workspace/docs/notes/document-import/gnu-ed/v1-22-6/translations/*-ja.json` and `03-comments-ja.json` are the preferred editable Japanese inputs. Paired token maps preserve command syntax, links and inline markup. `canonical/en` and `canonical/ja` contain the 25 editable Markdown documents. English source fragments, complete original license, configuration, renderer and replay helpers are included. Installed dependencies, build outputs and the source ZIP itself are excluded from the kit.

Examples are static original samples. Program input/output and poem text, including deliberate misspellings used by substitution examples, remain unchanged. Explanatory example comments are translated. Libx does not execute the examples or audit the original technical claims. The full original manual and its static links remain available alongside the document pages.

## Reproduce the document site

Use the Node.js and pnpm versions supported by the bundled `package.json`, GNU Texinfo `makeinfo` 7.1, and Python 3 with BeautifulSoup 4. Run inside `workspace`:
